London #2

We’re back home now, after a tedious and somewhat uncomfortable train ride. We arrived at the station just after five am (ugh!), took my gran back to her house, stopped by tesco and then dragged ourselves to our own humble abode. I kept falling asleep in the car… And when we got home I had lots of mail waiting, which made me feel better haha. I had bought a book, a DVD and a sleeveless denim jacket online, and also had some letters from various people. Which included the “gift” from the band Little Fish. They were doing this promotional type thing where they would send 100 little drawings to the first people to sign up and I managed to get in. They do it now and again, so if you don’t get in the first time you can try another.

So I already went through most of the things we did in the other blog entry, but now I have photographs. This one is my brother and me sitting in Pizza Express, where we had dinner on our last day. I tried their new thing (well, I haven’t been in quite a while) where you kind of get a donut shape pizza with salad in the middle haha. I didn’t want to go for the usual pasta thing or veggie pizza, so I thought I’d try this and it was pretty good. I’m not a huge fan of pizza, but there weren’t a lot of options for dinner. I objected to going to another shitty Indian or Chinese place… I’ve had enough carbs this holiday. What is it with going on holiday and not getting any decent yet afforable food? Haha.

I may or may not have mentioned seeing Dirty Dancing in the previous post… They were sold out of Wicked tickets :( so we went to see Dirty Dancing instead. We being only my brother and I, since my gran wasn’t feeling too great after walking so much. My parents were going to the British Library together or somewhere in Leicester Square, I can’t remember. The musical was surprisingly good! I was a little wary after seeing the movie so many times, but I really really enjoyed it! My brother, Connor, did too, which surprised me aswell hahaha. The actors were very talented and it was a nice change for them to actually sing some of the songs: although they were mainly performed by the non-speaking parts. It was a little odd how they did some of the scenes, using a turning circular platform to change from scene to scene and having a car on the stage etc, but it was smartly written. Definitely recommend it to anyone that is ever in the area!

At the lack of remembering anything else… here’s a nice photograph of our Travelodge. No, I don’t recommend staying here if you can afford better haha.

Hairdressing #1

hahaha! No, I’m not going to make this a new section of my blog. I don’t think so anyway. It’s just a one-off!

I did my brother’s hair. I’ve actually been meaning too for a few months, but we decided to wait until the holidays in case I screw it up. It WAS supposed to be more like a fauxhawk and the bottom be really short, but he chickened out! I was totally offering to do it like the guy from Frankmusik, but he objected hahaha!

Sorry about the awful editing. I just wanted to quickly hide the background.

Trinity Guildhall

So I had my drama exam today! It went really well, I think. It helped that the examiner was so nice and we didn’t make any noticable mistakes. Actually…none I don’t think. I did stumble on my second last line on Wednesday night when we had to perform in front of the parents, but I don’t think I did in the exam =D That I can remember, anyway.

And we were actually so lucky, because we were given an improvisation (you get a prompt or theme twenty minutes before the exam to prepare) that was really similar to one we’d practiced with, so we just altered it and basically used the one we had practiced for three hours on the Sunday rehearsal.

Just for your information, we constitutes as my brother and I. I did it with him because I was a grade behind my friends (since I backed out of the Grade 5 exam last year) and didn’t want to do a monologue. I think I worked better with other people that acting by myself. I probably COULD have done some dramatic and sad scene, but… decided not to.

After swimming today, I’ve been so tired =( But I have noticed I’m getting slimmer! These weeks or exercising almost every day are finally paying off! Yay! Although I’m having to deal with my parents telling me if I get any skinnier, I’ll be invisible. It really pisses me off because I know I’m not skinny (and no I’m not one of those morons that is 10 year old girl skinny and denies it), I’m kind of slim but still classify as average. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I want to have the skinny androgynous sorta look. I LIKE that look. Then I can wear badass outfits and look GOOD =)

A lot of you are going to say I sound stupid, but whatthehell..

Accident

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

My mum had a car accident on the way to pick my brother and I up from school. She texted me half an hour before pick-up time to say she would be a bit late. I went by the music school and stuff to waste time. I came back out fifteen minutes later, expecting her to have shown up by then. My brother turned up, having gone to STARBUCKS -_- and we waited for another half an hour when she finally showed up. I didn’t notice anything as I put my bag in the front seat. Then she gets out and walks around the front of the car to observe it. I got back out, asking her what was wrong. She said, “had a bit of an accident” and then I noticed the smash on the left side: lights smashed (but still working funnily enough) and the front all cracked and broken. I couldn’t believe it. Anyway, we got back in the car and my mum was pretty shaken up. I asked her if she was okay and she said she was fine, physically. Then I had a realisation that maybe she as shaken up because the other driver wasn’t, but he was fine too. The way my mum explained it made it sound as if there was a giant motorway pile-up, but I later realised she had meant that their accident caused a queue of traffic and hold-up. Phew. I’m so relieved she’s okay and no-one got hurt. I’m never going to have the guts to drive. I’m just going to look at my gorgeous ’67 Impala and leave it in the garage =]
